World’s Largest Video Game Collection Owner - Interviewed

There is a wildly un-compelling interview up with the owner of what could be one of the world’s largest videogame collections, which takes up almost an entire finished basement, including walls and floor, over on VintageComputing. I’m not sure why the owner (who wants to be known only as “videogamescollector) of the collection isn’t more forthcoming, as he is obviously vintage gaming’s hero. Here’s a sample question and answer:

VC&G: What are your collecting goals? For example, are you simply trying to collect every game ever made, or do you focus on label variations, all games for a particular system, game genres (RPGs, fighting games), etc.?
VGC: My goal is to get the games on my want list and sell all my variations and doubles.

The man is a dynamo. But forget about that for a moment. Look at the scale of the child in the above photo, close your eyes, take a deep breath, and try and imagine what being in that physical space feels like. Man, my NES collection once topped out at around 160 games, and THAT felt overwhelming. Walking into this room would probably put me into shock. I would burst into tears, and become unconscious.
