Social Darwinism
In 1858 British naturalist Sir Alfred Russel Wallace, a contemporary of Chuck D, published a paper entitled On the Tendency of Varieties to Depart Indefinitely From the Original Type. But since Wallace was remote and isolated far flung in Indonesia, he is all but forgotten to history. If he had been able to stay in contact with “civilisation” and keep his fellow scientists apprised of his discoveries via a world wide web of information of some kind, the question is, would he have still made these important observations and experienced that aha! moment or would he have spent an inordinate amount of time online while in the jungle watching Julia play the ukulele? The world will never know. Happy 50th Birthdy Interweb!
