Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da,

So the dow plunged 778 points and the inflated price of gas and corn is crippling production and transportation. Some of us have lives to lead. We’re generation X.5. We’re thirty flirty and thriving. We are newlyweds and ready to start a family. We ‘re trying to figure out how to be homeowners, grownups,  citizens. We have to save, we have to think about the future, retirement, investments, about how to be solvent even if we get sick when we’re 60 and there’s no Medicare to cover our asses.

We’re not lost or greatest or booming. and we’re definitely not the first to face uncertainty. Babies were born when the stock market crashed in ‘29 and when war broke out in Europe, twice. Young couples managed to buy homes and even if they were small they were proud. I don’t know how they did it without credit cards and a very protracted adolescence, but they did. We are the living proof. And we will too. Because even though it seems insane and you don’t know if you should buy or sell or who’s to blame, life goes on.
