My wife and I are thinking of retireing in the area (4 years from now)and I try to read everything I can find about Progreso and Chelem area. One of the things I can't seem to find is the cost of doing the renovations like yours. I don't mean to stick my nose in where it dosen't belong but could you give me some idea of the cost involved in your renovation? We have been to Cancun many times and love the area but can't aford to live there, or at least not on the beach. We will be comming there Sept. 2011 for a first hand sample of the area. Any suggestions on where to stay to get a real feel of the area?
